Vasantrao Naik Marathwada Krishi Vidyapeeth is famously known as the Marathwada Agricultural University. It is located in the Parbhani city of Maharashtra and one can reach the famous Agricultural University within 20 minutes by any public transport as it is only 2. 4 kilometers far from the city center of Parbhani.

This University was built on 18th May 1972 and the land for construction was actually donated by then 7th Nizam of Hyderabad Mir Osman Ali Khan. Offering academics in agriculture and allied sciences, research on regional needs and facilitating the technology transfer are the main objectives the University. It is named after the former Chief Minister of Maharashtra Vasantrao Naik and it is fortunate to know that it is the only University in the whole country which teaches all the branches of Agricultural Sciences to the aspiring students at one place. It is currently funded and regulated by the Indian Council of Agriculture Research (ICAR) under Government of India. This University is basically established for the research centers for sorghum, cotton, fruits that are existed in the Parbhani region and later it was developed as huge University. It has undergraduate, postgraduate and Ph. D. courses with many affiliated and constituent colleges linked with the University.

Entry to the University needs permission from higher officials related to the University for the outers and the entry timings are 10:00 AM - 5:00 AM.
