Palair Reservoir is a man-made lake 23 kms from the main city Khammam.

Palair is actually also called as Paleru in local region and it is a town in Khammam district of Telangana. Paleru or Palair is a tributary to the Krishna River which joins the main river near Mukteswarapuram in Jaggayapeta Mandal of Krishna District in Andhra Pradesh. This Lake or a small river is famous for its reservoir which was built with efforts covering around an area of 1,748 hectares with a storage capacity of 2. 5 TMC of water.

According to the historical records, this Palair Reservoir was built or constructed by the Nizams during their reign. It was basically constructed on the river at Paleru town of Kusumanchi. This Palair Reservoir helps as a balancing reservoir to the adjoining or nearest Nagarjuna Sagar Left Canal.

Entry timings for the Reservoir and for the park are during timings 9:00 AM - 6:00 PM. There is no entrance fee. Usually busy in Monsoon periods as the scenery around this reservoir becomes astonishing.
