Sri Venkateshwara Temple is a prominent Hindu temple situated at a distance of 5 km from the Kadapa city.

Sri Venkateswara Temple is dedicated to Lord Venkateswara and is visited by thousands of devotees round the year. Before visiting this temple, devotees are required to pay homage to the temple at Tirupati. Devuni Kadapa, a place in the city of Kadapa, Andhra Prdaesh, is also known as Tirumala Tholi Gadapa Devuni Kadapa – Shri Lakshmi Venkateswara Swamy Devasthanam. The place Kadapa is named after the word Gadapa which is originated from the word 'Devuni Gadapa' meaning 'entrance for Lord Venkateswara Swamy'. The idol of the Lord Venkateswara has been established by Kripacharya, hence the ancient name of Devuni Kadapa is also mentioned in puranas as 'Kripavathi Kshetram'.

Sri Venkateshwara Temple is very famous in the district, people from various places visit this temple, and this temple is generally crowded on Saturdays. People call this as 'Tirumala Tholi Gadapa' which means 'Tirumala First Step'. People say Lord Venkateswara kept his leg first here only so people say we need to visit this temple before visiting Tirumala. There is a lizard scultpure at roof of temple inside. People say that one touches this lizard all dhoshas(sins) which are there of will go off. The God idol is big just like in the Tirumala temple. The temple has an idol of Lord Anjaneya placed behind the statue of Sri Venkateswara. Moreover, the main hall of the temple has a dancing idol of Lord Ganesha.

Sri Venkateshwara Temple of Kadapa is open during timings 6:00 AM - 8:00 PM.
