Rani Lakshmi Bai park is situated in the foothills of Jhansi Fort, which is located opposite to the Government Museum in Jhansi. It is a decent park with lot of open space and landscaped surroundings and is well lit up in evenings and popular among the health enthusiasts.
This place was named after Jhansi ki Rani 'Rani Lakshmi Bai ', who was very popular in Indian history because of her bravery and efforts to save her land. This is must visit park as it is well maintained and green all around. It is fairly big park loaded with plenty of shade giving trees. It also has many seating facilities to rest a weary and tired person. It has a big statue of Maharani Lakshmi Bai dominating the central area of the park. Maharani Lakshmi Bai is sitting on her horse back with her right arm out stretched while holding the sword and her adopted son holding onto her sitting behind her. It is surely a lovely place to relax in summer days because of the trees.
Rani Lakshmi Bai Park and Maithili Sharan Gupta Park are both interconnected and thus it is a great place for a morning or evening walks. Swings are also engaged for children's play here. There is also a jogging track, a fountain , playing area, refreshments etc around the park. Her immortal words are written there 'Apni Jhansi Nahi Doongi' evoking patriotic feelings in all those who are still sensitive to the idea of nationality and patriotism. For others it is a good park for keeping oneself healthy or to spend good time in the company of loved ones.
The park can be visited during timings 5:00 AM - 8:30 PM. The best time to go over there is after 7:00 PM. People visiting Jhansi Fort often stop in the park for a leisure stroll. This place attracts local and as well as tourist in a large number. This place is a tribute to the freedom fighter's sacrifice made for the country.
