St. Mary's Cathedral Church located in Mall road, Jalandhar Cantonment is the seat of the Bishop of Roman Catholic Diocese of Jalandhar. This historic church , built within the city limits ,is dedicated to St. Patrick and was constructed by Rev. Fr. John Mc Donnel, O. F. M. CAPof the Vicariate Apostolic of Agra in 1847.

St. Mary's Cathedral Church highlights the secular character of India. After the partition in 1955, the church became the Cathedral or theMother Church of Punjab. The old church was demolished on 15th February, 1987 and the foundation stone for the new church was blessed byPope John Paul II in February 1986. The new church was then graced by Archbishop Jose Sanchez and inaugurated by Archbishop Agostino Cacciavillan,the Vatican Ambassador. The Apostolic was pronounced to India on 29th October 1989, on the occasion of Diwali, which was attendedby Archbishops and Bishops representing different regions of India.

The ornate design and architecture of St Mary's Cathedral Church sets it apart from other structures in the Town. The church comes alive on Sundaysand during Christmas season. The church also has an enticing garden that enhance the beauty of the church. With palms trees and greenson either side, the pathway to the main entrance is well maintained. Located within the Church’s compound ,‘Rosary Villa’ is an open gallery,showcasing the images of Christ and mother Mary. Beautiful marble fountains adorn the Villa. The main church is simple and has beautiful coloured windows.

Thisfascinates the visitors and gives them an extra-ordinary experience. St. Mary's Cathedral Church can be visited during timings 7:00 AM - 9:00 PM. The Sunday mass takes place at 8:00 AM.
