Hussain Sagar Lake

Hussain Sagar Lake is one of the largest man-made lakes in Asia is a lake in Hyderabad built by Hazrat Hussain Shah Wali in 1562, during the rule of Ibrahim Quli Qutub Shah. It is spread across an area of 5.7 square kilometers and is fed by River Musi. A large monolithic statue of the Gautama Buddha stands in an island in the middle of the lake. The Buddha statue weighs 350 tonnes and stands 16 meter tall in the middle of the Hussain Sagar Lake. The statue is made entirely in white granite.
