Sri Sringeri Shankar Math is a Hindu religious center situated at about 3 Kms from Dharwad city towards Hubli on the Pune-Bangalore Highway. This is a place of worship for the followers of Great Shankaracharya.

Sri Sringeri Shankar Math has a small Shankaracharya and Sharadamba temple. Visitors are welcomed by two elephant statues with puma kumbha at the entrance. The math is very artistically constructed as per the South Indian style of architecture and has two big gopurams with golden Kalash. Beautiful statues from Indian mythology are carved on the gopurams and on the walls of the Sanctum. The premises of the math presents lush green lawn and beautiful flowering plants on either side of the path.

The math has a six-sided rangamantapam supported by beautifully carved pillars. The grey white temple complex has a big hall in the middle and two temples each towards the left and right side. A huge verandah with beautiful flowering plants and greenery around presents a sense of peace and serenity. You can see the statue of lord Maheshwara, Devi Parvati and lord Ganesha, infront of them is the statue of Jagadguru Sri Adi Shankaracharya with four disciples. A shivalinga is also present in front of Shankaracharya.

There are also religious sermons held regularly at Sri Sringeri Shankar Math. On Maha Shivarathri: evening Yaama Puja, on Sri Adi Shankaracharya Jayanti Utsav : Ekadasha Rudrabhishek and Pravachana, on Sri Sharada Sharannavarathri Utsav : Saptashatiparayana Nava Chandika Homa. Sri Sringeri Shankar Matha also houses several cultural activities each month.

The place offers a very good site for yoga and meditation where people find divine presence. The math is open from Monday to Sunday for 24 hours a day. The best time to visit Shankar math is December to March or during prominent Hindu festivals.
