Hastinapur Wildlife Sanctuary is national wildlife preserve situated in the Hastinapur town of the state Uttar Pradesh. The Hastinapur Wildlife Sanctuary is situated at a distance of approximately 95 kms from the main Ghaziabad city. The Hastinapur Wildlife Sanctuary is basically situated near Madhya Ganga Canal road. It's better to visit Hastinapur Wildlife Sanctuary by your own vehicle as the public transport services are not good.

Hastinapur Wildlife Sanctuary is a national park and was established in the year 1986. Hastinapur Wildlife Sanctuary lies between 3-4 districts of Uttar Pradesh. Spread over 2073 sqr kms, the sanctuary is really a very large sanctuary. Hastinapur Wildlife Sanctuary is located on the banks of Ganga river and the western edge of the sanctuary runs parallel to the banks of the river. Due to being so close to the Ganga river, Hastinapur Wildlife Sanctuary is also known as the heaven for various migratory birds and more than 350 species of birds could be seen in the sanctuary including Painted Stork, Black and White Necked Stork, Sarus Crane, Kingfisher, Indian horned Owl, Barbet and many more. Along with these local and migratory birds, the Hastinapur Wildlife Sanctuary is also a home for various species of wild animals which includes Cheetal, Hyena, Leopard, Wild Cat, Antelope, Wolf, Sambhar, and many more. The Ganga river, adjacent to the sanctuary could also be visited to sight Ganges River Dolphin. Hastinapur Wildlife Sanctuary has various reptiles, amphibians, butterflies, fishes and Peacocks which are found in a large number. A large area of Hastinapur Wildlife Sanctuary is wet grassland while some area is only dry and thorny bushes. The Hastinapur Wildlife Sanctuary is surrounded with numerous trees of various types. Hastinapur Wildlife Sanctuary also features restrooms with 2 rooms which also provide food.

The concerned authorities do not organise any special event here. The place is best visited during winters. It's good to spend whole day here and return from the Hastinapur Wildlife Sanctuary at night as it is not safe and is prohibited by the concerned authorities. Non-vegetarian food and alcohol too is prohibited inside the sanctuary. The place could be one of the best place for picnic with a pollution free environment and away from the 'concrete' life. Hastinapur Wildlife Sanctuary do not follow any timing. Entry is also free.
