Toranmal is one of the highest located hill station of Maharashtra. This hill station is complete package for anyone looking for a peaceful vacation. It consists of lush green environment, beautiful lakes, waterfalls and many man-made attractions. There are a wide range of flora and fauna present everywhere. Apart from the beautiful dense forest and pleasant weather, Toranmal is also a holy shrine. It is said that earlier this place was a tribal area and it has derived its name from tribal Goddess Torana. There is a temple located in the area whose presiding diety is Goddess Torana.
Toranmal also offers the trekking and kayaking experience. It is advised to not visit Toranmal during summers and monsoon as landslides occur quite frequently here. It would be better to carry trekking and swimming equipments and some snacks while travelling to this hill station, as quality food is not easily available. People often spend around 1-2 days here. The best time to visit this hill station is from the month of October to February.
