Zakir Hussain Rose Garden is a botanical garden located in the city of Chandigarh. It spread over 300 acres of land, making it the largest of its kind in all of Asia. It is located in sector 16 and at a distance of 2. 5 km from the centre of the city.

Zakir Hussain Rose Garden is built in 1967. It is named after former President of India, Dr. Zakir Hussain. It was built under the guidance of first Chief Commissioner, M S Randhama. Expert gardeners have designed this magnificent Garden in the city of Chandigarh. It houses 50,000 rose plants, more than 1600 different species of roses. Along with this spectacular spread of flora, Zakir Hussain Rose Garden also has medicinal plants like Bel, Bahera, Camphor and Gulmohar. The rose garden also attracts its visitors with one of the most beautiful fountains in the middle of the Garden.

The large area of Zakir Hussain Rose Garden hosts a number of events all throughout the year. But the most splendid one is its Annual Rose Festival, which takes place towards the end of February and the beginning of the month of March. Around 20,000 guests attend this spectacular festival annually. Its huge open space offers its visitors to have a relaxing stroll around the Garden. The Zakir Hussain Rose Garden also has lake-like structure, making it a good option for family outings. Things to do at Zakir Hussain Rose Garden include, bird-watching, walking along the pretty rose plants, cycling, indulging oneself in some delicious food, drinks and other joy rides. The Zakir Hussain Rose Garden also includes a number of contests varying from photography, gardening, landscaping to making of bonsai plants, declaring Rose Prince and Princess. The Zakir Hussain Rose Garden can be visited during timings 6:00 AM - 6:00 PM. It is open on all days of the week. There is no entry fee.
